It’s a running joke that this Italian-American boy eats well outside the margins of his red sauce/Sunday gravy upbringing. That’s partly because my father, who instilled in me a love for pasta and meatballs, was also a fair hand at replicating Wo Hop’s chow fun at home and partly because I live in the culinary wonderland that is Queens. Nevertheless, I have my spots for Italian comfort food and I’m lucky one of my favorites, Louie’s Pizzeria & Restaurant is a mere five-minute walk from my home on Little Thailand Way.
